Anybody near the Gulf Shores area? My first bike is turning into a fucking project bike. Guy said it was his everyday rider until he got his new bike. He didn't tell me he got a new bike because this one was on the ropes. Please help.

  • IF IT HAS HEADLIGHT FUSE PULL IT AND YOU CAN GO LONG WAY ON BATTERY IF YOU PUSH START EVEN FARTHER ILLEAGAL BUT CAN GET FARTHER I DROVE GOLDWING WITH ALT OUT MADE IT ABOUT 165 MILES ON FULLY CHARGED BATTERY

  • That's not the problem though, once it runs its on its own power it seems. Cause I can start it several times, usually, before it dies then I just charge it at home. This morning however, it acted like it wasn't getting enough power but the charger said the battery was full.

  • Wouldn't even start on start mode

  • Get a new battery. Wash the area where the oil is coming from and do a dye test. Start with a compression test to see if motor still has compression. Change the stator if it has problems

  • Hey, how are things going with the Shadow?

  • No progress yet. Still saving up for the stator, found a "performance" replacement I want, just built a little heavier than the factory one. Hoping to get it within a week, then I'll change my oil while I got the case open, maybe find that leak and seal it, hopefully.

  • It's running with a nightly charge though. Still riding it lol.

  • Sounds good

  • Sounds like what my daughters 86 shadow did right before her stator puked for the last time. She started carrying a booster pack with in her saddle bag because it would just die on her with out warning. finally she rode it to school parked it in the lot. she went to leave it would not start with the booster pack even. So she called us we boosted her with our truck. she did not even make it out of the parking lot before it died again. so we boosted it again got about half a city block and it died again. So then we called the local bike shop and pushed it the four blocks there. The stator had fried the coils on it were cooked and burnt like you would not believe. she got most of a season out of it running on a bad stator though. But when it went it went in a big way. The bike shop replaced her stator and she has had no more issues since.

  • I'm waiting on that exact thing to happen lol. Only got one start on battery today so I think I'm getting close to that time. I just need it to hold it 2 more Fridays lol.
