Anyone know if there is a way you can have you electrics going without a battery? As in just kick start it and an alternator with a capacitor will just work the electrics while the bike is running? Is it possible or feasible?

    • Ebay sell a battery eliminator may start there

    • Yes. It works. Your lights will be crap/not work at idle though

    • Maybe depends on model i have 2 6 volt agi models both run without battery but lights dull at idle, also have a 12 volt points model runs no battery not sure on lights as it has none

    • My '08 12v runs without a battery, but as said above the lights at idle are shit.

    • may i ask why? if it's just to free up some space and reduce weight, you can get a very small battery from jaycar that will work fine, or so i have been told.

    • Both those. And to keep it simple as well. Mechanics I'm pretty good at but electrics not so much. So I try eliminate electrics as much as possible

    • Thanks for the help guys. I'll be sure to look into all those suggestions

    • you don't need a battery - just a good voltage regulator - swap your original bulbs for leds and it should be good to go
