Anyone on here ever take off their chrome shadow name plate on the tank ?

I have an 01 shadow spirit 1100cc VTC, thought about removing the name plate chrome and having the tank and fenders painted.

My concern is how the chrome is mounted.

Question 2 anyone every replace their tank? If you did did you add a larger one? That is another option I'm thinking of.

Would love to get even a half gallon if not a gallon more in the tank.

    • 05 spirit here, name plate on the tank (and the side covers) are stick ons. Heat gun will do, takes a while to loosen the tank badges but they'll come off.

    • I don't know a heat gun around gas I have used some wd-40 and a plastic putty knife

    • Hair dryer might work

    • I took my emblems off no heat gun and no scratches, just goo gone and 12 inches of fishing line

    • I used the same as James Mccord on my buddy's vtx and 01 1100

    • And as far as I know no tank options because of the backbone/air tube is so damn big just carry a half gallon Jerry can

    • Use a fishing line to remove it its a lot easier

    • I got my bike used name plate was gone i think its glued on

    • Dental floss or fishing line

    • Shadow name's off same tank. 2001 VTC Shadow Spirit too.
