I have not been able to ride all weekend as I am doing my honey do list — Honda VTX Riders

I have not been able to ride all weekend as I am doing my "honey do" list. Because I do not have a "honey" it falls to me. I just want to say to all of you guys who do your own home projects, You have my deepest respect and admiration. This is damn hard work! To all of my female friends who have a "honey", APPRECIATE HIM...this shit is HARD! Especially when you have boobs to try and bend over, work around, carry stuff, etc...omg. treat your "honey" to a back rub and dinner. Now I am off to grocery store to pick up a few things because I have company stopping by for dinner. I am beat...be safe out there everyone...too many motorcycle accidents lately!

About 3200 miles in 7 days...600 miles a day to get to Beaumont, TX....attend the Lace, Grace & Gears Rally and tooled around Beaumont, then 600 miles a day to get home (2 days each way). My bike is COVERED with bug guts, bird poo, and dirt...my body is SORE but it was a good time. Now to change the oil, put a new front tire on and find out what the "rattle" in my clutch case is all about. Get her ready for the Rocky Point Rally in November.

I leave for the Lace Grace and Gears Rally in Beaumont TX on Wednesday — Honda VTX Riders

I leave for the Lace, Grace and Gears Rally in Beaumont, TX on Wednesday....Originally going to be 8 of us, now down to the 3 hardcore riders! LOL as always. Plan on doing 600 miles first day, skate in on second day to make the meet n greet. Mixed feelings about this trip after reading all the posts...LOTS of new riders kind of scares me. I'll have fun no matter what...all participants are doing red, white and blue bandanas on their bikes or American Flags...girls have a hard time all agreeing on stuff...wave if you see us!

Never had anything like this happen — Honda VTX Riders

Never had anything like this happen:

Riding to a breakfast meeting, caught up in Stop and Go Traffic right before the restaurant. Down shifting to make the turn into the parking, and the bike shifted wierd. When I pull the clutch to turn to park, nothing, handle just pulls in. Slowed as much as I could, and hit the kill switch, not a great way to stop.

The clutch still just pulled in, no engagement.

After the bike sat for a few minutes, the clutch worked fine.

Had breakfast, and meeting, came back out, and it worked fine, only had one time it didn't engage on the 40 mile trip back home.

    It is a 2003 1800c.

I knew I needed to change the fluid, had it on my list for this winter. I think the fluid is bad, and the stop and go traffic it got hot and maybe boiled, creating an air bubble or two.

I went ahead and changed out all the fluid, Clutch and Brakes, it was brown, no dirt, some air bubbles in the clutch, but hard to tell because my drain tube was a little large.

    Was fluid the problem?

What else would cause the handle to just work freely?

There are no leaks anywhere, clutch seems fine.

2003 Honda VTX 1800 stock exhaust — Honda VTX Riders

This is the stock exhaust that came with my bike, but it already had Vance and Hines pipes on it. The guy said the baffles were removed/drilled and they're even louder than the Vance and Hines. I'm not going to use them. Make an offer if you want them.

Ok everyone here's a update on my bike situation lol. As many of you know I have been a Honda guy all my life. Last 8 yrs have been building and riding my 06 1800C. Well times have changed I guess. I sold mine to my son Michael. The 02 1800C I sold to my brother Jeff. The 1300 I sold to my nephew slash second son Jeffery. Below are pictures of the bikes I sold. The other picture is my older brother Michael King with his BigDog. Looks like I will be able to end up with it thanks to his daughter Kimberly Etheridge-King (Love you). Wether I have it for BBBBq, we will wait and see. But I will be there regardless:)). Been part of the VTX forums for a few years and hope to still be welcomed. Someday I hope to have another to build also. Ride on!!!

So I took a little ride last night to meet some friends for an adult beverage, conversation and mostly for wind therapy. When I went in, I was the only bike parked in a certain area...when I left, I was surrounded by "Sporties"; had to chuckle as I came out, these GIANT men were saddling up on them, trying to make the chicks they picked up comfortable on those little bikes, while staring at me on my AMAZING VTX....giddy up boys!

    2002 VTX 1800C — Honda VTX Riders

I bought this X last year thinking I wanted a bike with a faring and hard bags. After a year I have decided a faring is not for me. I ended up buying my old VTX 1800S back so the C model has to go. bike has about 27,000 miles. Not sure of the brand of faring but it has 2 6x9 Polk speakers,a 200 watt amp and a new JVC head unit. Plenty of Kuryakyn chrome. Power Commander and modified airbox. Floorboards, highway bars and other bits. Located in Wilmington NC.

So had my very first experience with a Front tire going flat Nothing exciting... — Honda VTX Riders

So, had my very first experience with a Front tire going flat. Nothing exciting or anything where I took a spill, guts all over the road... but more a Ho hum situation. After a 30 min ride to work this morning with speeds ranging from 5 - 80 MPH I was 3 mins from my destination, going through the round a bout (traffic circle for the rest of my US bretheran) at 25 mph and I suddenly notice the bike starting to fight me into the turn, very weird feeling and of course slow down, complete the turn arrive at work to paark. Check the front over seeing no damage, no leaks, no hanging wires. I'm thinking the worst, bad head/wheel bearings, blown fork, frozen caliper, etc.. cause the tire looks inflated. I of course then check the tire by pushing on it and find it's soft. Hmm, talk about luck considering what speeds I was doing just 3 mins before.

Cyndi Foster shared Lace, Grace and Gears Rally's post to the group: Honda VTX Riders. — Honda VTX Riders

So, I am planning on doing this rally, thinking it was designed for all female riders to come together and share stories, kinship, etc...NOW that I have paid my fees, it would appear that most of the women are "bringing their hubby, old man, boy friend, etc". I don't understand. All of the "events" are now geared towards "couples" activities. Think I will just enjoy the ride and bypass the "fluff".

Selling a Woody's fairing. Fits all VTX models. Came to me damaged off a customers bike, he bought a new one. I've reconditioned this one and put it in primer, it's ready for paint (which I can do for you as well) It comes with almost everything you need. You'll have to pick out the stereo and (4) 5" speakers of your choice, and add the chrome bar across the front under the windshield (only if you want to, it's optional). These run for about $750 new, I'll let this one go for $400 (plus shipping) and I can paint it to match for an additional cost. Check out my FB page if you'd like to see some of my custom paint work. Questions let me know.
