    • yeah thats one thing though in Malta most of the people lack.. AWARENESS mate... i too love to ride in the rain...as steve said.. it dangerous though...but hell yeah.. love the rain still the same hehe

    • LOL. You guys can keep your rain. I had ridden during "showers" before but had my first ride in a torrential downpour during a Nor'easter last week. Not sure if I had wet myself or if I was just soaked from the rain but either way, I lived to tell about it. Had puddles in my shoes. Oh yeah, fun times. Maybe I should just wait until the snow falls, then take the bike out. ;) Ride on, ride safe.

    • Out here in Florida, we get anything from calm rains to torrential downpours just about every afternoon in the summer. I road my old shadow in all of it. Thunderstorms with heavy lightning and hail were no fun at all but it was great to stop and fill up during those storms and have people look at me like I had lost my mind. Just about everyone that rides down here rides in the rain, if not then we would have to keep the bikes parked in the summer. Ride safe everyone

    • Xavier Mateu. It's the wind noise that caused headaches on long trips. I started wearing earplug made for riders a few years ago and really like it. They are blue with yellow ends and are reusable. There's a hole through them to let some sound in.

    • Looks good! I have the same color.

    • I bought a 4 inch set, 6 inch would have been nice but right leg is resting the stock air filter. Nice to stretch legs a bit more. Easy to install and would recommend.

    • Would it be in the living room or the man-cave like my old man would have done lol

    • No.......its in the man cave currently, undergoing a complete restoration. It will be in the corner of my living room with the wide screen atop, right next to the fireplace. If the room were just a bit longer, I'd build another one for my Accord!

    • Can't wait to see the pics she will be a beauty :)

    • Just remove them.

    • solo set up is common..

    • Did the solo seat and added a mustang fender bib looks very sharp....

    • I removed the front fender and adjusted the stock handlebars forward a bit on my '02 1100 Aero. Without the fender the front end looks great. The only problem is when it rains or the road is wet, the tire throws water up but it's not bad enough to put the fender back on.

    • My 99 is as cold blooded as my old camaro was. It can be 100 degrees and I have to choke it, and ok not that far front you Kenton.

    • Mine is finicky I have start with no choke but use when it has fired once. If I use choke first, no go.

    • Well that's weird Wil.

My rear fender is coated with soot. The original owner rejetted the carb so as to not "Blue" the Vance and Hines straight pipes. Am I running rich?

    • Vance and Hines are not to blue due to the full cover heat sheilds. Some told me that rejetting is only necessary to get full potential of aftermarket exhaust or for the use of an aftermarket air intake kit. I do find myself cleaning my rear spokes a little more than usual

    • Kenton if u have black soot your running rich. If its running ok leave it alone.

Hey anyone ever have a problem with the gear box/shifting problems? Twice in the last 2 days mine has been stuck (bound-up) in third gear while down-shifting. Anyone have any ideas? Oil is correct and filled and clutch is working and adjusted properly. Aside from that I'm lost.

    • Thx Bill for the info. Bike has only 4000 kms on it so I'm not sure if my clutch cable would be worn out yet. Will check out the adjustment on it again but I think I will take it to have it checked out.

    • Thanks Bill, making adjustment today.

Menards had an "ATV Cycle jack" on sale this week. Went to get one today, mentioned this to my son, who had changed the oil in my bike in July. He said it won't fit under the bike. I thought he had used his jack to lift my bike to change the oil but he said his would not fit so he did it on the ground. Anyone else use or try to use a cycle jack on an Aero?

    • I have a Sears........bought it seven years ago for the aero, wing and my 71 Honda. Haven't used it on any of them...... but it will fit under my aero just fine, but that is due to it being bigger than the current ones.

    • My Craftsman fits under my 98, but I had to block under the frame because the engine sits lower than the frame.

    • Got mine from Harbor Frieght. You can't use it to change the oil. Put the two tires on some scraps of wood as well as the kickstand. That will allow a pan to slip under the frame.

I need to buy a new registration plate for my Rebel after some idiot drove that close to me he bashed my back end - whilst having a smug grin on his face! He nearly had me off the bike and as I say, he's broken my reg plate and L plate off :(

    • Spooky - that happened to me years ago whilst in stationary traffic. Had my feet down and BANG! The new driver behind was so busy chatting to his mate in a car alongside his that he forgot I was in front... He was so apologetic that I just took his money offer and got a new L plate for much less than he gave me;) His pride was hurt - luckily I wasn't....

    • Lucky! Unfortunately this guy knew what he was doing, and I didn't have chance to get his details. Some people shouldn't be on the roads

    • Am doin that.. Wanted to know how it feels with factory settings on!

    • I'm not sure there is a so call factory setting anymore on this bike with the gas the way it is. Just set it to were it won't die while at idle and will run well while your at a light. I've played with mine and it is setting a about 800 @ idle.

My 1986 Rebel 250. Bought August 20 of this year, after an 18 year hiatus of riding. Took this photo at the top of my driveway the night I got home with it. Been enjoying it every Monday through Friday that it has not been raining. Well, except for 2:30am last night when i got caught in steady rain on the way home from work. At least I had a short (20 minute ride) and it wasn't cold out.

just got a replacement Rebel 250 for the one that was stolen last year.

I took a tumble on my motorcycle last Saturday along the Cherohala Skyway — Honda Shadow Aero

I took a tumble on my motorcycle last Saturday along the Cherohala Skyway. A few bumps and bruises, but only my pride suffered serious damage. The Honda Aero is a little worse for wear. A group of very kind riders from Augusta, Ga. Helped me out of the ditch and back onto the road.

    • I do not do the peg scrape as a matter of course, but occasionally it happens. I hang my boot low off the back of the peg so I know when I am close.

    • I have some floorboard metal on the dragon as well as the skyway. Dragon was unintentional, as I found out my 99 aero doesn't have as tight a turning radius as my 03 wing does. Skyway, on the otherhand was due to my attempt to sightsee, while riding.........the two don't mix. The bike can be repaired, just glad you walked away from it.

    • IMO, there are two types of bikers, those that have gone down and those that have yet to go down. Glad you are okay!
