  • you need a proper chain on it too - the stock one looks like a tiny thread!

  • That's not stock it's the renthal one but I need a link taking out but have no chain tool

  • I mean you want a 428p chain. You should be able to get a 420p chain tool from ooracing

What air pressure should I be running? Standard stock size street tires on my V-65

  • Yep, all good advice, the tag on the driveshaft housing is the best guide to use as a starting point, especially riding 1 up around town. There are too many variables to just quote front and rear pressures. Best to experiment as Thom has said and research through your tyre manufacturer and supplier also. Safety first then extending tyre life comes second in my book. Make it a habit to inspect your tyres regularly also and you will soon see the different wear trends when running different pressures and riding conditions. Learn as much as you can about your tyres, they're the only thing between you and the road and affect every aspect of your ride, take care of them and enjoy your riding.

  • well added/said Peter ;)

  • I run 38 psi in the front, and 36 psi in the rear.

Just had new fuel pump fitted under Honda recall, has anyone noticed any difference after having this done?

%d comments
  • if there seizures in the faulty pumps are due to high internal friction, then a better pump with less friction should lead to a higher fuel pressure, hence better atomisation, better combustion, and so better feel, power and economy.

  • But I suspect that would only be noticeable if you'd had a REALLY poor pump to start with.

  • Thanks for all the comments guys

So I just went to go for a ride, but my gears felt really clunky and horrible so I came home, checked the oil which was within the limits. I put her up on the paddock stand and in gear with the clutch in the wheel was still spinning so I assume the clutch cable needs adjusting..? However my sisters boyfriend then pointed out there was a small puddle on the floor. Something's leaking out the exhaust but only when the engine is on. Anyone had this before?

%d comments
  • its a Grom shart.

  • the water will be condensate from the can. It will be (very) black due to all the soot. The wheel will usually turn when in neutral or with the clutch it at idle: in neutral the clutch is locked but none of the gears are engaged, but they're still turning, so the oil drag can pull the wheel rounds, especially when the oil is cold and thick. In gear with clutch in, the gears are engaged, but the clutch plates are not being pressed together. That said, you've got 8 faces that are fractions of a mm apart at most, bathed in oil... so yes, oil drag will gently pull them round. But in both cases you should be able to hold the wheel still with one finger poking the middle of the tyre, it's only viscous oil after all. If however the pull in gear with clutch in is VERY strong, then yes, it's likely your clutch is dragging and will need more free play.

  • Gavin to the rescue as always. :D Cheers, I've booked in for the recall on Wednesday and mentioned it so shall see what they say then. But she's been up on the stand loads before and never has the wheel turned that much with the clutch in, and the gears feel horrible when changing.

  • Very nice chum.

  • you'l lprobably find that your side panels flap about it bit with the airbox removed. I just used an unobtrusive black cable tie to hold them together. Has worked well for the last 20k. :)

  • Look out about the vibration! In the video you can see that the light vibrates a lot, that could cause the metal bracket arround the light to brake. It happened in the US. I ordered a new exhaust and i didnt whant him under the seat because i have a mnnthbx fender kit too.
