You actually get used to it. I never used a full face helmet, only when it rained once. No heated gear too.
we Canadians tend do that, me too Lan, lol, just be careful in the minus temperatures, with bike, this morn i saw icy spots on roads~ day sun cleared them away, i have worn my full faced 3 times lol half helmet with my balaclava cover over this gals nose, no heated gear either, thats when long johns and chaps and work socks come in handy lol and i bought skidoo gloves lolol
Hey guys, it started to be freezing cold, so it's the best time, to make some fixes in our bikes. I'm looking for your opinion, would you help me? During stay in service, my friend made me feel bad... why? just look at this: http://imageshack.us/a/img607/333/20121128103514.j pg (terrible scratch!!!). I can't sleep now, due to the fact I'm constantly thinking how to fix it... Should i paint it with small brush using similar paint? - I guess surface won't be perfect after this. I was thinking about getting there a sticker of K&N too. Effect would be some kind of this: http://imageshack.us/a/img231/3184/kn2s.jpg. What are your suggestions? What would you do if you were me? After I finish, I'll post some pics of it pimped and ready for the next season as an expression of my thanks.

Anyone got a spare headlight housing they would want to sell? The nut stripped to hold the bolt to holt the bezel on mine, and it's rattling.

Does anyone know of a conversion that allows for both lights to be on for low beams, and the high beams??
Probably a simple deal I'm just not thinking of right now.
You can do it, i have 3 headlights on my 185s. One pointing straight out and the others angled to the sides to light up the whole woods when i ride it. Your high/low beam wires just need to be messed with, just solder a jumper wire from the high beam positive wire to the low beam positive. You might not be able to switch from low beam to both and might have to just always run both high/low, but will work. My 185s ran 3 lights at full power just fine
I'm just going to fix so that the lows both work as they should and the highs work alone, then I'm going to take a cracked headlight case I have, glue it, add some kick ass leds' and wrap it in black. Probably run two different color leds one set to run with lows, an one set to run with highs, also run brighter leds for highs etc.

here in WV we can ride on back roads with no divider lines,and on a main road up to 10 miles on the side from farm to farm or trail to trail,some towns around the Hatfield McCoy trails you can ride in eat,get gas,stay the night

hi everyone, i have a question to ask, basically when i go to start my storm it will turn over and over , i haft to pull the choke out for a few sec's then push it back in and repeat this a few time until it starts then once it starts and its warmed up its fine for the rest of the day and will fire up on the button. its a fairly low mile bike with only 15,000 miles on the clock and been very well looked after. any help would be much appreciated.
carbs are good as recently had a jet kit fitted, they where checked at the same time and balanced along with new plugs. oh well cheers for all you suggestions and im sure i will get to the end of it.
What is the intervalperiod between two rides with the bike ? More then a couple of weeks ? If so, try another fuelsupplier, could work out as well. My wife's bike had the same problem, bad starting performance, but if running ok. Had to do with fuel quality and low usage of bike.
i use Morrison's for my fuel and yes the usage is very low and don't get out much, i think this year i've done just under 600 miles. thanks for your advice rob.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to get a good write up on cylinder head installation including cam set up. I put mine together this weekend per the Honda manual and still trying to get the front set up correctly. My clymers manual outlined a similar but different process and indicated that there were some differences between the 86 year and the earlier ones. This is for an 83 v65. Thx
Funny John....watched that yesterday before your post. Btw, the 65 sprockets have to be positioned in the chain and then slid onto the cam shoulder and secured with one bolt, spin crank 180 and secure opposite bolt. I see in your vid that you secure the sprockets to the cams prior to placing them in the head. I'm pretty sure I can't do that with the 65....but maybe??
You can do it the same way on a V65. I have built a few V65 engines.

Anybody else own a 85 AND a 86 350X with supposedly stock engines in them? Any difference in power between the two yrs? I own both but I think my 85 may have a can in it, it really comes to life in the mid-top end... just curious if any else has noticed this or if its just my bikes
perhaps. I've never riden an 86 350, my experiences there are with 200.
Ill agree on the 200X part, the 85 had a different engine all together from the 86. The 86 had alot more yop speed due to its 6th gear but it was a guttless pig compared to the 83-85 models. As for the 350 theyre the same
I agree Jason, i hated the white myself for a long time but i wanted an 86 just because no one around here has one. I go to a local shop thats about 35 mins from here and he n I are the only two that have a 86, i like being different, but you still cant beat the beauty of the 85 :-)
When changing gears the selector gets stuck in and out of gears and sometimes I have to half click it so it goes in gear would it be gearbox or clutch coz I've been adjusting the clutch ad it changes a lot better but selector still gets stuck

Hi there just got couple questions bout my postie it's an 88 model was my grandfathers it ha been sitting around for abit although when I'm riding it to change gears it gets stuck both up and down is it the type of oil or would it be an adjustment somewhere??
Yeah check clutch adjustment. Also the drum stopper arm in the engine has a tendency to break which could also cause it.
If the drum stopper arm breaks it won't change gears at all I reckon
I adjusted the clutch and its working alot better then before still gets stuck a lil bit but changes alot smoother it sounds bit like the engine is knocking and I was reading the owners manual online and it might be the cam chain I gotta adjust that. I tried too but it's in a shit place when I've for some more time ill take the brace under it so I can get to it with a spanner

I run 18" flat track tires on my 200X with stock sprockets ... fun as hell 4th gear crossed up power slides... it doesn't go 65mph but is a blast... plus its got a high performance webcam, high performance valve springs, bored slightly over and man does it scream in the high revs... all that and I still wanted more, sooooo hence came my first 350X :-) 250R's sure are fun but give me that low end torque and deceleration anyday over a 2 smoke maintenance hog

:) yo también tube que desarmarla toda después de un accidente que tube en ella por eso fue que la modifique un 80% el cuadro por que me había quedado muy chueco sí tarde varios meses en echarla a andar pero valió la pena :) ya la lleve a una concentración de motociclistas y fue muy bien aceptada :) y eso que es la primera moto que modificó así

Looks like im gonna eat my words. My spare motor has same thing, but it didnt puncture all the way through. So im taking the side case and cover seperatly and jb weld the hole on both peices. Make it a smooth finish and hopefunny you wont ever notice because i will sand it down nice and flush and paint the whole motor and get a case saver

Thats cool Lance - I don't know too much about motorcycles but I'm learning - I'm 47 and last November I went to motorcycle school to get my license and I rode all winter here in the north panhandle with the temps bitter cold in the early morning like at 2 am while most people here had their bike in a garage in the day time with a the sun and most people here don't even have a license

This is interesting. My blue VTR is originally a german licensed bike, however has also the USA EVAP system on it. So now it has a dutch licenseplate, an UK engine and some parts from poland, france and UK.
In the Us forces..., you could order anything through the PX catalogue, bikes, cars anything, it may have been ordered through that and registered in Germany, duty free...
The bike would be a LOT cheaper...1/4 off german price... doing that.
But should have been shipped back to the US when the german tour ended, but of course many goods , Hi-Fi's Tv's etc were sold on for a profit. ; )

Flared the guard on one side a little bit. You'll have to modify the crossmember on the swing arm otherwise it'll rub and you won't have enough chain adjustment.

i've got 3.00 x17 on both front and rear and had no troubles fitting them. the same make of tire as standard, but a little wider.
Is 635.00 a good price for Michelin Commander 2 tires mounted and balanced for front and back a good price to pay

I get between 10,000 and 12,000 miles on my Dunlops, my son runs Metzlers and they are suppose to get more mileage but with the harder compound, they tend not to grip as well sometimes. I ride pretty aggressive, so I like the "more sticky" tire.
