    • It's worth it.. You just have to ride a machine with one.. it's just different, nicer. I like to launch hard, and all out acceleration. it just allows for that, much more than stock does. I purchased mine for that reason, and the looks. If I could do back I'd have the shock mount pushed up about 1"+ so it'll sit a little higher in the rear.

    • Matt what exhaust is on it now?

    • Just the header came with the bike. The bike was missing like 26 parts.

    • My windshield is a Memphis shades in gradient black. Love the look of it, but wanted the fairing for the cold weather.

    • What fairing is that? Any more pics?

    • Bought it on ebay, for a Harley Road Glide and made my own brackets to hook to my Memphis Shades mounts. will put more pics on when it's painted.

I dug up some pics of my 'baby' after I had finished customizing it. Nothing too radical but I notice that seats are something most folk leave in black. I think getting it redone in matching leather has a lot of influence on the 'look' of these beauties.

This is a 1998 a VT1100C3 Aero I bought in Germany and have kept as I have moved around the world. The only thing I have changed since these pics are the footboards, they are now chrome. I think there is enough chrome on it!

    • There are other racks that I like the look of better, some "universal" fit and some for the 750 Aeros, but they might need some adjustment to fit just right. If you don't really need the rack, what about having your upholsterer make you a custom leather fender bib? Could look really sharp.

    • Thanks for this Steve, the closest thing I have found that I like is this http://www.cruisercustomizing. com/rear-solo-rack-shadow-750- aero-2004-current/part/BBP-53- 448

But it is for a 750, I am half contemplating buying it and if it does not fit, get some metal added where it should connect under the seat and then rechrome it. Any idea how close 750 racks come to the 1100 size wise? They secure in the same manner as each other to the underside of the seat and the single lug on the fender.

    • That is a good looking rack. I like that tubular style construction much better than the flat billet and although I haven't seen one built specifically for the 1100's, you can probably customize it without too much trouble. I'll let you know if I run across anything else.

    • I would start with an adjustment, have you got the postie manual?

    • i dnt its a 1999 posite though

    • http://www.hondampe.com.au/doc s/owning_a_honda/owners_manual s/motorcycles/CT110-2005.pdf

I don't think they've changed that much. Use a spanner for the nut not a socket because you need to hold the screw stationary whilst tightening the nut after adjusting

    • There should be a compliance plate somewhere maybe on the frame near the forks that tells you the year. I'd look at mine but its about 30km's away at the moment

    • yeah mines a 1999 model.

I am planning on getting louder pipes this spring and need some suggestions. I have a shadow 750 aero and I have stock pipes now and the quietest bike I'm the group.

    • I too have a 750 Aero with stock pipes. People were always telling me it was too quiet, but louder ones just didn't have the right tone. After 25k miles it is louder but sounds more mellow than aftermarket pipes. And I get compliments on the sound now. It just depends on what you want your bike to sound like. Listen to others and see what sounds good to you, then buy what you like.

    • Hard chrome drag pipes. I have them on mine and always get comments on how mean they sound.

    • Haha Jason I want to be heard coming and going but I don't need them loud enough to rattle windows like my husbands pipes.

    • If you like to listen to music don't get them too loud. I made that mistake when I had Cobra pipes installed, now I can't hear my music above 30 MPH.

    • I see , you will need 1no AIRBOX and 1no left airduct and 1no right airduct , i think the knee is a reference to the 2 small pieces that you can see in my picture of the internals of the airbox , these slow down the air by re-directing it up .

    • so you also need 1no left knee and 1no right knee .

    • Thanks :-)

    • Mines a 750 Honda Aero not an 1100, Midnight Star here in Canada is double the price of mine which is a 2006, those Midnights are a nice bike, go all the way up to 1700, awesome, about ave used price here is about 10,000 checked kijiji here used advertising sight, i bought mine used got it for a good price :)

    • I bought my 750 Aero for a great price with only 1,550 miles on it. Many say I need a bigger bike, but my wife and I ride with the bigger bikes and they have to shift more than I do, and my gas mileage is way better. Think I'll keep the baby Aero for now.

    • yeah its no problem they are going to replace it. this shit happens sometimes i spose

    • This is what I got from oneten in Caboolture

"Hi Glenn, the CT110 changed from 6 to 12 volt in about 1990, so if your bike is before 1990 then it is a 6 volt. The other way is to remove you battery cover have a look inside the battery box, the 6 volt battery is fairly small and it should have a clear/white plastic strap harness around it inside the frame. The 12 volt battery is much bigger and and is a snug fit, it fits inside a black battery box inside the frame. If you have a 12 volt there are brighter headlamp globes available but sorry not in 6 volt, cheers Joe."

I've asked if they do brighter bulbs but there site didn't show any when I looked. I'd rather have a full reflector and HID bulb than something that shines all over the place. I have to ride past two different Bikie clubs on my way home and I'd hate to piss someone there off, too slow to get away lol

    • So, how good is it?

    • The report was it wasn't as good as a20 HID kit, although the HID kit points everywhere with light if you don't spend 60 bucks getting a hard to find reflector to suit.

I purchased a brighter bulb from OneTen in Caboolture (great service everytime) and it shits all over the stock bulb

Need to have a 12V bike (big battery, not a small one)
