The tassles are gone. Still not sure what seat to go with, but once that gets set, the windscreen will get cut down or taken off and maybe, just maybe, some 12-16" apes. All depends on the seat to start.

My battery died instantly at the weekend. Really weird. Replaced regulator 2 months ago and no problems. Been for a run on sun, stopped at my mates and then when I came to start, 1 crank then died totally. No lights on dash or anything. Got it home and tried battery on optimate. It went bonkers!. New battery fitted tonight and all seems ok. Question is in regards volts. Everything switched off battery reads 13.30 volts, and with engine running 13.85 volts. Is this enough?

    • Honda finned one. 14.50 volts going into battery when engine running so all should be ok.

    • Yeah voltage is ok but why the hissing/bubbling?

    • Possibly a dud seal around the +ve terminal? The top seals are fine. Will email the company I bought it from tomorrow morn.

    • That's why I'm still suffering through the stock seat on my 750. Still looking for a seat I am comfortable in.

    • I've been looking into a new seat for my '98 VT1100C3 as well. I was ready to order a Mustang until I got to sit in one. It is nicely padded, but it definitely shifts you forward and I don't think I will like the new leg position as well. Has anyone tried the Day-Long Saddles? More expensive, but the custom fit could be worth it for long days in the saddle. https://www.day-long.com/seat_ warranty.html

    • V&H longshots

    • The corbin would probably suit you. I tried it on my 750, great on long rides but wider then the mustang... made it hard to get the feet down on ground since im short and already not flat footed.

Ok now for my Question — HONDA SHADOW RIDERS FORUM

    Ok now for my Question....

I bought a Shadow Spirit 2006, last week that came 2nd hand from USA.

I live in Trinidad & Tobago W.I.... Caribbean

There is no Honda dealer here in Trinidad, so I'm looking for suggestions of Good Honda Dealers in USA for:

    1) Original Parts

    2) after market accessories

Once I can get stuff to my Agent in Miami, I can get it to Trinidad in 3-5 days

*** MOST IMPORTANT....... Whoever I deal with must speak English as a first language (I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but the language can be a hassle when dealing with USA)

Can anyone recommend a good reliable source I can deal with via Phone and e-Mail?

I'm also looking for a Luggage Rack... Most that I see on the web attach to a Sissy Bar. I would prefer not to have a Sissy Bar as I find it spoils the lines of the bike. I don't like Bling... Can anyone recommend a Luggage Rack that does not require a Sissy Bar?

Having only had my Honda Shadow for a week now here are some of my comments... It's a heavy sucker, it does not seem to like tight bad country roads with loose gravel and sand and potholes that you could float the Titanic in, but I'm accustomed to large and medium on/off road bikes and it may be my riding style..... It seems to be a real gas guzzler compared to other bikes I owned..... Not a big thing, but I got accustomed. To Kilometers in Australia. The bike came from USA, and it's instrumentation is in miles, so I'm constantly doing conversions in my head..... BOTTOM LINE... I LOVE THE STURDY PLATFORM

    • Are they pretty simple to install? I've always done my own motorcycle work. But so far in the four motorcycles I've had...I've never had to do any engine work. It seem simple, I've just never looked into it.

Finally after just over two week off the road and in between working and rain showers I’ve managed to clean off the winter commuting crud and I’m ready for so summer fun. Forks refurbished, sub frame painted, rear hugger painted, little plastic thing covering the oil filter painted (decided to do the wheels the same colour as the hugger when I get some spare time) coil sticks fitted, swinging arm and rear hangers polished, paint work polished and looking good considering the weather I’ve ridden it in.

Hi all — Honda CT110 Postie. Bike Forum

    Hi all,

I decided I needed a project about six months ago and snagged a postie bike - unfortunately like a fool I grabbed a 1977 CT90 and have found there's juuuust enough that is different from a CT110 to make things 'interesting'. Specifically, the bum of my exhaust has rusted out and the inlet is slightly different in diameter from a CT110 - while I could grab a new exhaust from Dr ATV, it would cost me more than I originally spent on the bike and feels a bit like cheating.

Does anyone have any experience in this matter, or any suggestions for options? I'd love to know what people have come up with for their rides.

I understand this group is for CT110s - if a CT90 doesn't cut it, let me know and I'll take this down.

    • so then, is that in the tolerance still, or should i change the shims where 0.10 and 0.25 fitted only?

    • You should be able to fit 0.13 for IN and a 0.28 for EX. They might be a snug fit though. Honda says to do the clearances at 35*C or below.

For IN; if 0.13mm (or less) won’t go in the clearance is too small. Anything above 0.19mm should NOT fit, if it does the clearance is too big.

For EX; if 0.28mm (or less) won’t go in the clearance is too small. Anything above 0.34mm should NOT fit, if it does the clearance is too big.

    • the problem is my feeler gauges go up by 0.05 each, i don't have 0.13 or 0.28, i have 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, etc. but from what i have seen, i think the clearences are good. thank you for the help!

    • If the corresponding front light goes out (rears don't come on at all) then it's your blinker relay. I can tell you from experience that the blinkers will work irrespective of the function of the self cancel unit (I cut the angle sensors out if mine and it still works!)

    • Learned this week the flasher has a three wire connector. The blue wire goes to the self cancel module as a ground. You can divert that wire to ground directly and bypass the self cancel.

    • I was hooking up LED blinkers both front and back. My self cancel module is connected but the angle sensor wires are not attached. I purchased a new electronic flasher since the LEDs don't produce enough load to operate the stock flasher. The blue wire sends a signal to the self cancel module and then switches to ground. I couldn't get the blinkers to flash until I directly grounded that wire.
