    • Keep Calm Chive On Duuude :D

    • Is it the actual cap that's rattling? A friend of mine had that and put a computer magnet on it, works great. :)

    • Shortly after i got mine, i thought the pistons were going to flop right out of it, it rattled that bad when riding, until i happened to look down and see the highway peg rattling... the sound travelled through the bike and sounded like it was in the engine from where i was sitting lol

    • Interesting...I can put my hand on the tank when it happens and the sound it muffled...bolts are tight

    • Wouldnt be a hose clamp or something under the tank, vibrating up against it?

Update on my forks, taking them off the bike was easy. Then the tough bit came, I managed to undo the Allen bolts on the bottom of the forks, what was tricky. The top of the forks with the air locks I can't get off the bike without sticking the fork in a vise which I don't have. I took off the dust seal and under it was as plastic washer, which i suppose should throw away. I was doing whole masters degree in getting the bloody circlips out, NO success. I bought pliers specially for that but all i manage is to lift one side of circlip out of the groove and thats the end of it. Any idea how to get them out easier? I am surely doing something wrong! Also my oil was grey as sky, that means as I saw in the other comment that the water got in there? Are fork seals suppose to stop the water leaking in or dust seals as well? The dust seals seems fine but if they play a crucial role in keeping water out not just dust and rocks I shall get new ones. Thanks for help!!

    • I replace the circlips as well. I bought a cheap set of picks, one of which is curved. Makes it easy to grab one end of the circlip and pull it out. For what it's worth, you all ready have a vice....reinstall the fork tube on the bike for both removing the end caps and the Allen at the bottom. The bikes weight will assist you. If you're going to break it all down, then replace the seals and dust boots while you're there!

    • G'day - agree with Ken, use triple trees as a vice for undoing and doing up. I had same problem with cir-clips (that's why put tape on fork tube). When you get the one end lifted, put small flat blade screw driver under it and it will flick out. My clips were even rusty, so just cleaned them and the seal seats with bit of wire and flushed with Metho. I re used the Plastic washer as manual said to?? Don't worry about grey oil - just make sure you flush with Metho then a bit of fork oil.For the small price i'd replace the dust seals as the old seals may have gone hard. Are you going to bleed the brake at same time? This is also simples, Let me kow if you intend to Cheers Ian C

    • thanks guys for the advice, I had figured it out yesterday, so all off i went to put the forks back into the bike and found out that i don't have proper spanner for the top to undu. someone before me already mangled the air cap a bit so i went hunting and got myself nice new 24mm socket and sucks, the square hole is too large for my ratchet, grrr, so i left it till i calm down ;)) not thinking about bleeding the brake Ian, well at the mo, I have no spare cash right now as tattooing is a bit slow, so I'll stick to the main issues ;) no fork on the bike. I will have to clean the discs and the pads as there is oil all over them though as when forks leaked they leaked full on. thanks again!!!

    • You have got to consider your riding...on Interstate going 75-80 will use considerably more than riding around town/country roads going 45-50.

    • 75 is our usual highway speed limit. Interstate can range from 75-85 .

    • 75 80 against the wind will kill your mpg also.....on my way to SD I was at 75 miles before going to reserve!

Have you ever seen twenty pounds all crumpled up?"...

    the woman asked her husband.

    "No"...said her husband.

She gave him a sexy little smile, unbuttoned the top 3 or 4 buttons of her blouse...and slowly reached down into the cleavage created by a soft, silky push-up bra...and pulled out a crumpled twenty pound note.

He took the crumpled twenty pound note from her ...and smiled approvingly.

"Have you ever seen fifty pounds all crumpled up?"... she then asked her husband?

    "No ..no,I haven't" ...

he said (with an anxious tone in his voice).

She gave him another sexy little smile, pulled up her skirt, and seductively reached into her tight, sheer knickers... and pulled out a crumpled fifty pound note.

He took the crumpled fifty pound note... and started breathing a little quicker with anticipation.

"Now" ...she said. "Have you ever seen £10,000 all crumpled up?"

    "No, never" ...he said

(while obviously becoming even more aroused... and excited).

"Well, you best go and take a long ' hard'look in the garage!"...she said.........................

bit of banter : The 6th grade science teacher, Mrs. Parks, asked her

class, "Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?"

No one answered until little Mary stood up,

angry, and said, "You should not be asking sixth-graders a question like that!" "I'm going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, who will then fire you!" With a sneer on her face, she then sat back down.

Mrs. Parks ignored her and asked the question again, "Which body part increases to 10 times its size when stimulated?"

Little Mary's mouth fell open; then she said to those around her, "Boy, is she going to get in big trouble!"

The teacher continued to ignore her and said to the class,

    "Anybody?"

Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and said,"The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye."

Mrs. Parks said, "Very good, Billy," then turned to Mary and continued, "As for you, young lady, I have three things to say:

One, you have a dirty mind, Two, you didn't read your homework, and three, one day you are going to be very,

    very disappointed."

Hey Guys — Honda Shadow Aero

    Hey Guys,

I just recently purchased the Cobra Lo Boy Shotgun pipes for my 2007 Honda Shadow Aero 750. I also went ahead and bought the Cobra ReJet Kit too. The directions in the kit where not exactly clear on what type of jet for me to use. Basically it said if I was running a stock air filter and aftermarket exhaust to use the 122 jet. However there where 3 other jets offered in the kit with no explanation on when I may need to use them. The strange thing about the install was when I pulled out my stock jet it actually looked larger than the 122 jet that was provided with the Cobra kit. I followed all the directions to the letter including changing the mixture too. Question is, is the 122 the best jet for me or do I need to go up to another size and why does the stock jet look like it has a larger diameter hole through it? The bike does seem to run fine with the jet and new pipes installed, but I'm getting a little popping on deceleration. Not bad, but just a little. That leads me to believe one of the other jets may work better for me. Thanks for the help in advance. Randy

    • Thanks Robert. I'll check out the PDF in a little while. I submitted the same question to Cobra and they gave me Dyno Kit's phone number but they seem to think that a little popping on Deceleration is normal. I just want to be sure I do this right and not end up blueing my new pipes. Thanks again for the reply. Randy

    • Firestorms are well known for that because of the position of the starter motor. It catches all the crap off the road and rots away. If you need a new starter motor, a Honda Hornet fits straight on without any mods and they're better and loads cheaper. I got one for £8 off ebay. The VTR ones were about £80 and old.

    • I work for a motorfactors who deal with a company that will recon mine. How easy is the Leed to change?

    • Changing the lead is easy but it might still be the starter motor its self. I looked into starter motor rebuild and they were quoting £70 plus £30 p&p and the other option £80 for 2nd hand one. The Honda Hornet starter motor is exactly the same as a VTR one. Look same, same size, same bolts, same lead, better quality and cost about a tenner.

Bit of humour to start the day. god I hope I don't offend anyone this time with my joke!

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in London. I think it should be the goal of every Briton to be tolerant. Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque.

We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy ", and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot." Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit bbq pork restaurant, called "Iraq o' Ribs."

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret", with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods. Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, "Koranal Knowledge ", its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.

If you agree with promoting tolerance, and you think this is a good plan, please pass it on...

    • No worries - clean the fork tube (when you have them out) with a rag and metho to remove oil. When you lift an remove dust seals tape the end of the fork and down at fork tube where seal is so you don't scratch fork tube with pliers and screw driver when you remove seals. When seals out remove tape at fork tube. Leave tape at top to protect new seal when you put it on. Cheers

    Bit of FUN::::

Last week, I checked into the Four Seasons in Palm Beach and was a bit lonely. I thought, "I'll call one of those men you see advertised in phone books for escorts and sensual massages."

I looked through the phone book, found a full page ad for a guy calling himself Tender Tony -a very handsome man with assorted physical skills flexing in the photo. He had all the right muscles in all the right places, thick wavy hair, long powerful legs, dazzling smile, six pack abs and I felt quite certain I could bounce a sixpence off his well oiled bum.... you get the picture. I figured, what the heck, I'll give him a call.

"Hello, ma'am, how may I help you?" . . . Oh my, he sounded sooo sexy!

Afraid I would lose my nerve if I hesitated I rushed right in, "Hi, I hear you give a great massage, I'd like you to come to my room and give me one. No, wait, I should be straight with you. I'm in town all alone and what I really want is sex. I want it hard, I want it hot, and I want it now. Bring implements, toys, rubber, leather, whips, everything you've got in your bag of tricks. We'll go hot and heavy all night -tie me up, cover me in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, anything and everything baby. Now how does that sound?"

He says, "Oh my God... that sounds absolutely fantastic, but you need to press 9 for an outside line."

    • With not having*

    • I didn't use brackets for my first set on bags. I did put some of those small adhesive bumpers on the rear of the fenders to keep the bags from rubbing off the paint. The new set I put on this spring I went with brackets. Imho I'd go with the brackets.

    • I've got a pair of unbracketed leather bags that were on it when I bought the bike and I've not had any problems with them moving around or rubbing the fender. Although I do split the load up equally on either side

    • The bike I recently bought had bags on them without the brackets. Without the support bars my friends behind me would get nervous when I passed a truck (high wind speeds) and bags would bounce/move around. They also rubbed a lot of paint of my fenders. Now I have the saddlebag supports to hold the bags and keep them off fenders. It not only is protecting the paint, but holding them out and off bike a bit. It looks better in my opinion. Oh, the loose bags also wore a nice mark on my rear rim too.

I firmly believe there is no such thing as coincidence,it all happens for a reason: A little VTR story. When I couldn't ring the neck any more from my lovely little Honda CBF-A (08 plate) I sold it and it went to an Export Dealers in Malta..ONLY AFTER I spied my beautiful yellow VTR from a cpl of Brothers over in Cockermouth (eh!) Those who know Cumbria folk speak will get that bit!! lol.. I bought my beautiful yellow VTR on August BH weekend 2009. I rode her for 3 years and, for all intents and purposes, was gonna buy a Blade when I moved to Wales..So, with reluctance, I sold her,all the extras left on her and she was a lovely shining example of a 97 plate! she was sold to a local guy (even though both bikes via ebay) and shipped to France! blimey, another bike abroad..

Anyway, after waiting and biding my time and had time on my side I set about looking at Blades.. all set I told myself..I'd sold my lovely Yellow bike with all carbon bits on her, Carbon Co cans, gel seat the lot! THEN I spied MY NOW beautiful bike not a mark on her, immaculate and went WOW, shat me pants when it started up at the noise from the cans lol..and went "SOLD" having that! On Aug BH weekend last year, bought her, newer model, bigger tank, digi clocks, race hoses, loads of extras incl twin 12v sockets, mega loud Blue flame Evo Titanium original bad boys EXACTLY the same day of the year (what are the chances?) as my first VTR and both my ex bikes shipped abroad! Strange but true.. meant to be.. I'll keep her for now lol...Who says no such thing as fate! ...megafeckinghappychick.. :-) Just felt like sharing...sowwwyyy if you're bored lol

BSB races september at Assen circuit: ****** IMPORTANT INFO *******

I am trying to organize a meeting as you allready may know, furtheron i have probably the possibility to have following extra on the raceday on sunday:

A number of people can be guest on this day at the hospitality unit in the paddock from a Dutch Superbike rider (he will race also), it's the famous former Olympic Gold Medalwinner and former World Champion Ice speed skating Rintje Ritsma.

It's not clear to me yet what will be the cost to be his guest (normally you will have free drinks etc ) but i am in contact at the moment and will have more info later this week. People who are interested, please let know so i can have a view on the total number :-)

    • I have a set of Roadhouse True Duels on my 2000 Aeros 1100C3

    • So all you need is the left side mounting bracket off a Tourer?

    • dont know. generally I buy something and figure out how to make it work with what I have haha

    • Vance & Hines bagger dual exhaust system for ace tourer can be mounted on 1100 shadow aero 1999? I saw some photos of aero that were equipped with this type of discharge; require some changes? I would be willing to buy it and replace my original exhaust ... thanks

Anyone got mounted the Falcon Footrest 10cm to the front ?!

    • I do not have the falcon forward controls, but I did install the scootmod 4" forward controls a couple of years ago. They were well worth the money in my opinion.

    • ordered them last wekk ....... problem now..... they do not fit with my hepco&becker highway bar ...... :/

    • Is it just the brake side or both sides? I am not familiar with the way that particular bar mounts, but I know someone that had that issue. He had to make a little bracket extension..

    • Here is a little pic of the extension.

    • Full synthetic oil is no good for the VTR. Semi syn is my choice. Others prefer mineral.

    • My vtr went to Honda for a hours work three weeks later it came back. Long story short just cause they a Honda place don't mean that any good

    • Oddly one of my friends had a problem with a brand new storm 15 years ago like that, and Hondas mod was drilling a hole in the air box as it was breathing too hard and was pulling air through the seals on the air box.... Might not be the same problem at all but I thought it was worth mentioning, run it without the air box cover on and see if it still makes the noise.

    • Did you make a frame for the side bags?

    • Side bags were on the rear carriea. And it is fixing with a string.

    • Thanks, I have a set of Andy Strapz bags and am trying to decide if I need a side frame for them to stop them from moving about on rough roads.
