I'm more or less testing the water here, but I am curious as to if anyone has a basket case hard tail mini trail 50 they want to get rid of and how much? I keep thinking that one day I'll run across one that isn't $500+.
So guys if you have one what kind of price range would you sell it for? This way I'll know how much to save up. Thanks

2008 750 Aero keeps blowing headlight bulbs... anyone know of a common fault that could be causing this?
I would check the voltage at the head light with the bike running. If it is higher than 14 or 15 volts look for a stator or regulator problem
If the voltage is correct, make sure the front wheel is in balance; it can bounce and cause vibration the rider wont feel, making the bulb fail more often. Have someone ride alongside you doing at least 55 and check it out.....spokes wheels get bent easy over bumps and curbs...
I know from experience that a mouse could of chewed through the wire causing a short happens when you ride the vibration makes the wires move and short if exposed
Today was the day I got my knee down on vee rubbers

I picked up a basket case CL90 and need a few parts. Tank seat maybe some forks — Honda Bike...Lifan Motor
I picked up a basket case CL90 and need a few parts. Tank, seat, maybe some forks....couple other misc. pieces. Anyone have anything laying around?
I'm pretty sure some S90 and CL70 stuff fits, too.
I have some CL90 forks, but springs are cut and lowering pre-load spacers installed. You'd want new springs. Also, generally kind of rusty (except the important parts)
The external springs? The ones that are hidden by the gaiters?
What's involved in taking out the pre load spacers?
Yes, external springs have been cut. Removing the preload spacer involves pulling the fork seals (should be pretty easy since they're new'ish. Preload spacer is a piece of aluminum tubing around the innner fork. I can get you pictures in the next week or so of the condition.

Punching into Europe on the Grom! 100 miles from Dieppe at Péronne.
Also stopped at the Nürburgring! Wanted to get the Grom on the track but it was closed for testing/racing. Next year maybe lol
What are you using to protect the bags from the exhaust heat? I'm mulling over a longer trip and can't think how to get around that problem.
I did have cork blocks glued on. Always worked for years but not when you lose one! Now a bit of overly thick wood is wired on. It's a fix for now.

I just bought my first magna for $500. Its a 95 750 all stock. The previous owner bent the fork tubes, ( claimed son hit a curb and bent rim and forks) does this mean i need to change out the whole triple tree or can i get away with just changing out the tubes??.
Thank you David Smalley for answering my question.
Michael I made arrangements to have it inspected i should hear back in a few days.
To give you guys an update on what the shop finding was. They said I need to change out the tubes and everything on the inside. ? Whats on the inside and is it hard to change. Where can I get new fork tubes or have new ones made?

After baffle removal. Didn't do a before cause most of us know what a stock shadow sounds like lol
I have vt 400 with standard pipes. If the baffels are removed will this make it sound better as well. Or should i just buy a set of cruizer pipes. Any advice on this would be good.
It would only sound a little better with stock baffles removed, but like much better with aftermarket pipes

My bike died in the middle of a ride after charging all night. Took battery to autozone and they said it has plenty of life, but might be bad connections. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, I have an aftermarket Kury driving lights and batwing with stereo installed so there is extra current.
Check your stator and rectifier also. If stator is bad you won't get a charge to the battery
Grant did you make it home
Update: bike started great with new battery and I made it home! My Kury lights were brighter than ever, I didn't wire the radio to the battery. I'm hoping this was all just a case of a bad battery. We will see if I can hold a charge in the days/weeks to come

Well that was a fun day. Had my 500cc comfort/lesson today, got round the block and radiator got punctured by a stone being flicked up by a car passing roadworks. Pouring out coolant like a garden sprinklers. So instructor turned around and said, I haven't got another 500cc machine, (my face dropped with a thought.... See you next week) so we will have to get back and put you on a 650cc machine (70bhp) at this point I haven't even done a MOD1 or any training on anything geared other than CBT on a 125cc bike. Literally rode 500cc for less than 10 minutes. So here I was doing a 500cc (47bhp) comfort lesson on a 650cc (70bhp) bike. As you can imagine grin from ear to ear. Doing MOD1 & Test over the next weekend. Then two weeks later (if I pass MOD1 test) MOD2 & Test, resulting in a Direct access licence.

Anyone know why my seat cowl has done this?
Does anyone know if Z max is ok to put in a v65?
Mine does the same thing Jim. No smoke, leaks, or fouled plugs. Where does the oil go is what I can't figure out.
It is burning it. Keep in mind that you couldn't necessarily see the smoke during the day and under acceleration. Busy looking ahead and smoke can be hard to see during daylight.
Ive asked others if they saw it smoking and they said no.

Taking my '83 V45 Magna on an overnight trip tomorrow. Going about 200 miles out and back. The bike has been 100% reliable since I did the clutch bleed on May. But, being away from home just want some suggestions on what basic tools to pack and why. Bike has no tool kit. Thanks.
Great suggestions Al. Going to be 90+ here today but in the 40's at night in Vermont. Same jacket. I will be hot today and a bit chilled tonight. :-)
I also rebled the clutch and got a bunch more dirty fluid out. Looks good now. Topped off oil, topped off brake fluid, have my gas additive and tires are at 32psi. Time to roll. Thanks for the suggestions.
And riding partner has tools, tire kit and compressor on her bike. :-)
