I thought I would install battery tender tonight on my Aero, but stumped as how to do it. I see the positive terminal right under the right cover, but don't know how to remove the battery or easily find negative post. Do I need to remove seat? Anyone done this recently to help? I have a 2006. Thanks

Can someone give me the dimensions of a postie, highest point, widest point and length, I want to put one on the draw bar of a camper trailer. Cheers.

  • Hi Daniel, a postie is 190cm long, 75cm wide & 100cm high to the handle bars or 130cm to the top of the mirrors, be careful of extra weight on the drawbar it will add a lot of down weight on your hitch,

  • Thanks bill, its 75x50 draw bar & 50x50 chassis, should handle it easy.

Interested, how much did your forks cost at Rev Race, just comparing prices.

  • It was a few years ago, complete internals change and a custom setup for me based on weight/height, riding style and use (fast road/part track). Including shipping was a bit over £300. The change is astounding and the bike was totally transformed. Stable, turns in much faster, brakes way better. I then did a custom Penske shock from them too. The bike is utterly amazing now. Talk to Roger at Revolution racing for the low down. They will also do a ride in ride out service if you book a day.

It s getting cold around here I ll have to put the bikes to bed for the winter... — Honda V45 and V65 owners (Sabre Magna)

It's getting cold around here. I'll have to put the bikes to bed for the winter pretty soon. They spend the winter in an unheated but dry garage. What I usually do is turn off the gas and run the bike till it starves out, and then take the battery out and put it in my cellar. Does anyone have different ways to store their bikes?

  • When I lived up north I would also use fogging oil in my cylinders, raise the bike off both tires (prevent flat spots), and coat everything metal with WD-40, along with everything mentioned in the posts above.

  • Thanks. Looks like I've been doing it wrong in the past. The bike is running better than it ever has in the last 31 years thanks to Billy Carr, so I want to make sure the carbs won't clog up over the winter.

  • Also try out Startron Enzyme Fuel treatment if you have to store an ethanol blend in the tank.

Readers will be aware of late I have shared a number of posts having regard to... — Honda CT110 Postie. Bike Forum

Readers will be aware of late I have shared a number of posts having regard to the Un-Constitutional laws passed by the Queensland Government supposedly specifically targeting 1% Motorcycle Clubs.

And so if I may a few thoughts, value-added with selected quotes, from far more intelligent authors than I.

The bully-boy Newman & his kowtowing incompetent A-G Bleijie are abusing the rights of Queensland motorcyclists.

No doubt the vast majority of Queenslanders are quiet in this matter convinced that the draconian measures do not affect them.

To “them” I say ... “A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.” [Morrow]

And so take care what you wish for.

As the majority of Queenslanders sit in their valued apathy, doing nothing, I put it to you that in turning your attention away from what bullying Newman government is doing [to paraphrase Einstein] your continued silence makes you guilty of complicity.

Complicity ? ... Yes; the silent majority of Queenslanders are complicit in what Harry S Truman stated “Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."

Complicity ? ... Yes; your blind & ignorant belief in the authority of the Queensland Government currently being abused by Newman is the greatest enemy of truth [Einstein]. Further on the issue of Newman’s often attested majority, & on the silent apathetic majority of Queenslanders, Rand noted “Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual)”.

Presently we are seeing any number of eminent commentators deriding what Newman & Bleijie are attempting. No doubt Newman’s foolish & brutish grandstanding politicalisation/s will be successfully challenged in the High Court and at a significant waste of public money trying to defend the indefensible.

Just wondering what this problem is. I completed my cct the other week and I have ridden the bike once since and it seemed to go ok. Went to ride it the other day and it wouldn't rev past 2500 and seemed to struggle from idle. Thought it may have been timing so striped it down today and checked. All ok with both pots. Checked all connections and hoses all fine. Bike still won't rev past 2500 but now dies when going back to idle. I am starting to think it may have a fuel problem? Any ideas. Thanks

  • Won't be a gearing issue, will be a carb issue. Have you tried running some carb cleaner through it?

  • Is the choke off? (do you let it warm up first, then turn the choke off before riding away?)

  • Sorry, it may not make much sense but did you try to shift up to 3rd instead- skip 2nd gear altogether? Rev the engine up higher to compensate for the higher gear...and release the clutch slowly

    Still cuts out the engine?
