Hi I not long got a ex postie CT110, ive went to do a oil change on it, and noticed it has 2 sump plugs, i know the right hand side one is the engine oil, but does anybody know what the second one is, i opened the sump plug and very little oil came out of that one. can someone please explain what it is? Thanks

    • The other plug covers the timing chain adjuster. There is no need to remove unless adjustment is needed.

    • It's for adjusting the timing chain the one on an angle the flat one is the oil.

    • The second plug opens up narnia, DO NOT touch it, unless you want to meet a big ass talking lion

I will become the owner of a CBF1000 in the next 2 weeks, I previously owned a Deauville and as this is a return to chain drive has anybody had any experience with chain oilers like scott oilers or Pdoilers which they could pass on?

    • Hi Phil. I used a scottoiler on my last cbf1000 (now on my third!) and just didn't get on with it. Either flung oil over the back wheel or chain went dry. It must have a real fine line between too much or too little. Now I clean with paraffin, let it dry then cover with a dry lube. Currently use Castrol but probably buy Wurth next. I'm sure you will love the big Biffer.

    • I've had my cbf just short of a year now, I used 3 different dry lubes, wurth, silkolene. & castrol, my chain ended up black & sticky with all of them, took some cleaning off too!!! I now use gear oil after a thorough clean, I use my bike at least 5 days a week in all weathers and since using the gear oil it's cleaner and looks well lubed, grit and dirt doesn't seem to stick so I'm gonna continue using it, back wheel gets a bit grotty but it did with the dry film lubes too. I didn't like how you can't see the dry film lube,

    • pwede nmn sir synthetic oil is good for engine mas mahaba ang mileage nya na pwede ka ulit mag palit nang langis compare sa mineral base oil un yung nasa honda mismo, sythetic mas malamig sa makina mas matagal lumapot pero side effect nya mag sliding ang clutch mo, mineral base oil maganda kapit sa clutch, pero mabilis uminit makina lalo pag long drive, saka dapat periodic ang change oil mo...

I just got my VF700S running after sitting in someone's garage for around 6 years. I noticed a small amount of coolant seeping from (what I believe to be) this external coolant line. Anyone familiar with how to replace the o-ring or whatever seals this connection?

    • In the process of doing mine . It's much easier with carbs of, I haven't done it with them on. It's just a standard O Ring, which I made myself from a O Ring kit, replace with a little sealer. There can be quiet hard to pull out, but do come with some gentle persuasion!

    • I've run it a couple more times until it got nice and hot. Looks to me like the leak has stopped but I may replace it anyway to be safe...

    • Nick Nickynacky Milne, Dynojet kits focus on main jets, needles, and lifter springs/ lifter holes (don't manufacture pilot jets). According to their website, with the suggested mixture screw opening on the kits, the bike will idle. Replacing the pilot jet in your case won't affect the Dynojet setup. As with any bike, you will need to find the right setting for the mixture screw opening. You can start at 1 3/4, 2 turns out as Lloyd suggested and fine tune. I have installed Dynojet kits on both my other rides, also replacing my pilot jets as with the standard ones, the bikes ran horribly.

    • yeah, I run 48's in mine for the last 7 years....bloody great

    • The idle (pilot jets) still operate throughout the rev range in these carbs unlike others and will richen the mixture so you may need to drop the needle half a clip and drop the mains .5 of a size . Also with the Dyno jet kit if it come with different springs don't fit them as the slide will open to early and the same with drilling the extra lift hole .
