  • honda bond or three bond not sure yet

  • always use the locking pin in the upper casing so that the small hole in the bearing lines up with the second hole in the upper casing because that is the oil passage to lubricate the bearing .

  • yes that works for me. Some one could easily miss that.

I just bought this 2007 Rancher yesterday, it wouldn't start for the guy that was selling it and I haven't been able to start it either. He was the original owner & said he only ran it once last year. I drained & refilled the gas tank & it acts like it wants to start occasionally now. Being fuel injected, what do I need to check besides the fuel filter?

  • Left thumb on throttle

This can of carb cleaner in Rt hand

    Remove Airbox

Have friends push start button as you hold at 1/4 throttle

Spray carb cleaner in throddle body in quick bursts

To keep bike running for 30 seconds

Don't worry about drying out rings or cylinder wall this carb cleaner contains oil

You can even run a 2 stroke motor on it

  • If you can keep it running

Sometimes fuel pump will pick up

  • Alright guys, I stuck a new spark plug in it & shot some carb cleaner in there while I had it out. It fired right up & runs perfect. Thanks for all the help!

  • Such beauty

  • You can usually pick them up at autozone or advance even Walmart has them they come in all different colors and they a really simple to wire in its a positive and a ground with a switch to break the circut like any other auxiliary lighting and to answer the other question no you can't run them going down the road up here in Vermont unless ur feeling really brave lol the only under glow color that's legal to run up here is white and green

%d comments
  • Ben Bishop OBB stocks them mate, bit more than online but at least you can get it straight away

  • Plus resistors are ugly and just not the right way to do it. The original relay is a capacitor, it fills and discharges based on the load for a regular bulb. An LED bulb uses much less power so in theory your bike should use a bit less load on the battery. But the resistor method turns that saved power into heat, wasting the saving. I bought a cbr which had some, they were ugly and also where it wasn't done well the connection was intermittent and every now and then you got disco strobe light on the indicators switch. Just change the relay, much easier and tidier.

  • Hi Ben the only way I could get the tail light to work was by running the engine :-)

Hey guys im new to the group from sydney. Picked my storm up 2 months ago had a few issues with nuts coming loose etc so loctited everything and done manual ccts. Another issue i had was the clutch when i took off with revs over 3k it would grab really hard and i couldnt slip it. The previous owner has motul full synthetic in it. As i do alot of work on harleys and having clutch issues with full synthetic oil i went back to honda mineral oil and it works like a dream now.

Anyone having this issue please check what oil you are running.

Cheers

  • Make sure you get the gm oil. Cheap to try.

  • I use this on at the moment in all my bikes I'll get my dad to order some to try tho he runs a bike shop down in Melb *mini bike shop* but he can get big bike/road bike stuff also

  • Motul 5100 10W40 semi synthetic works well for me.

do you use leather suit or textile clothes ?

%d comments
  • Agree, but it could be fine for gloves

  • Textile on the street... Where I live, temps and conditions can change drastically 2, 3, more times in a single ride. Layer up of down as needed,, from 30deg in morning to 90deg and raining in afternoon. And it does protect... I went down last thursday.. 70mph highside.. slammed down on street shoulder and right side chest.

CorTech jacket saved me from a broken shoulder for sure... hit so hard teh CE armor puck split, no damage to me. Jacket has road rash in several spots, none on me

Ok. So after some advice. Before Xmas some twat opened a car door on me at the traffic lights and knocked me off my MSX. Damage was limited to a smashed belly pan. However, he got out of his car started to shout at me - then got back in a drove off!! I got my bike out of the middle of the road - sorted myself out and then chased after him. Found him 2 miles down the road - pulled in front of him and made him get out. I took a pic of his plate and he gave me his phone number. Spoke to him later that night - he promised to buy me a new belly pan. After that it's just been loads of excuses and now he's not answering his phone. So. Do I ring the police and tell them it was a hit and run - is it worth going via the insurance for £189 for a belly pan? Basically this bloke is a massive twat and I want my money out of him...

  • I would call the police, and insurance company and report the accident. Plus mention your injuries that are starting to hurt you

  • I wouldn't do anything it's not worth it he will deny it and as you never rang the police at the time they will do nothing

  • Have his text messages from the day of the accident onwards and phone number. He admits it in his texts. Plus a picture of his car and reg.
