I'm back. Natapos din. We figured out a better way to attach the modified mudguard. Air filter box pala talaga dun kaya natakot akong butasan. Dun namin nilagay yung bolt sa ilalim sa may chain cover, may bolt na kasi dun kaya tinanggal namin and sinama yung plastic sa pagkabit sa bolt. And then niremove din namin yung bolt ng monoshock na nakalink sa swingarm tapos sinabay din namin ibolt pabalik yung plastic. It was pretty good enough pero kelangan lagyan ng manipis na rubber either yung plastic or yung sa airfilter box dahil sa friction.

Sorry ang dumi. Di ko pa napaliliguan hehe.

I'm intrigued guys, in the process of rebuilding my firestorm (could take a while since I'm skint lol) I will be porting and polishing the heads and using racing valve springs that I already have, along with a clean and tune to add to the stage 3 dyno jet and tune, K&N performance filter, Velocity Stacks and bigger bore custom exhaust and free flowing Micron carbon cans, racing clutch and springs, and tsubaki cam chains that it already has.

So with all that, what would you say it will be putting out?

I'm reckoning somewhere around 115 maybe more?

Once it's all done I'll get a Dyno and see who was closest and I'll post it up :)

What else can I add to it or do?

Maybe racing cams when I can afford them lol.

    • It's not recommended, mine had all the jets changed and tuned by Jordan Bikes Performance Centre

    • I'm guessing it would run extremely lean without bigger/suited jets

    • No Ade Whitmarsh, it will run like shit. I tried it in mine and it runs way to lean

    • So how do I know what size I have? Sorry Zachary im new with the technical things and when installing stuff I can learn and measure. Haha but trying to find out what this sleeper has... Yeah... Do you think it's a 36?

    • Thank you Zachary for your help so far BTDUBS.

    • No problem man. Yeah i think there's a good possibility it's a 36. When this article came out it was a popular thing to do. That 's why my 350x has all those performance parts. The good thing is that Mikuni has a very professional website with plenty of rebuild parts and stuff. I've never measured a carb. I just new the size from what was told to me

Ok brain picking time stormers i was dropping my fiance off at the airport today and a few weird things happened i think the clutch is starting to slip which is weird as it was replaced by me i was seeing more revs to get the same speed as i would before by 500 rpm the bike was quite hot though.

Also a lot of vibrations on acceleration like the bike was struggling to get up and go i thought it maybe was the cam chains but no rattle from them at all when i reved it on the stand any ideas

    ps sorrry for no punctuation.

    • Remco Frijlink I meant the same spec oils at different prices, obviously...........As for the arguments about oil, thats been done to death on so many forums, that topic is a bit of a fuckwit magnet.

I have a cbr600 which has done over 100,000mls, on the cheapest supermarket oil, and it regularly gets a good ragging......as the Honda mechanic said at its last MOT..that sounds sweet as a nut. : ))

    • A little oil or fuel in the airbox is normal.

    • Re: oil...read the label, if it has the right number categories (the random shit, not the 10w40 etc) then it's fine.

    • Before my second build on it of course you know what it looked like originally

    • If it is clean, they prolly took care of it. I would question about how frequently the oil was changed and if the crank case looks clean and free of gunk. Good, clean oil seems to be important for the old girls.

    • Also, is it a requirement of this group to own one? I would understand, I appreciate your comments and hope to be a V45 owner within a month. Respectfully, John

Ok so took the bike out again. 82 Honda Magna 750cc V45 Here we go. 50 mile run. stalled 4 times on me. 2nd gear is there just slips out when you rev it up and kicks back into neutral so quick jump to 3rd. Won't stay running unless the choke is fully open. Full tank of gas gone on a 50 mile run. Now I get clean the carbs any ideas

    • Mine sat for 2 years thought I would have to take it apart but I tryed it first and it worked like a champ, it took a tank of gas and foam but it worked. I use it and all my stuff cars tractor boat bike etc

    • Well I'll be ordering the parts within this week to see if it IS the clutch for 2nd gear. I HOPE it not the trans. I'll keep y'all posted and thank you everyone

    • I believe it will be the trans. Cause a clutch issue I would think would not be just one gear and be the gear that everyone says goes out first when the trans is bad. If so it would be the first time in a long line of research I have done in these bikes that the clutch has caused it. But I'm no expert and if it is the clutch that will be something to add to my personal notes. Good luck.

    • It's strange that the st2 is the only one with the spondon frame !

    • strange ?? not at all . The reason is that the Spondon frames and forks and such like were from the 6 honda britain bikes , this is the one that was brought and then was raced by MARK DITCHFIELD son of ROGER , Roger built this bike as a stage 2 MORIWAKI bike and Mark beat quite a lot of opposition with it , none of the other bikes had the same power output of this one , so its a wee bit special (y) Moriwaki didn't use Spondon frames , they did all there own strengthening work in different ways .

    • Thanks for that info .

Well, I'm saying farewell to the Shadow group. Last month my Shadow was wrecked due to someone making a turn in front of me and crossing my lane of travel. The car fared better than my beloved 2003 Shadow Spirit 1100. I was very lucky to come out of the wreck as well as I did (my helmet did saved my life). Luckily I have no memory of the accident (really bad concussion) and have decided to ride again. I've moved on to a VTX1300C that I bought last week. Farewell and be careful out there. RJ

Good Morning Honda Owners, I need some help on clutch and brake levers. 86 VF700C. I need something a little closer to the grips.... any suggestions?

    • I sure hope so :)

    • I've got arthritis in my hands and like to have levers I don't have to reach too far for, that's how I ended up trying one of these and I did like it.

    • hey folks, while we are on the subject, if and when you install different levers, try playing with the handle bar position, as well as the lever positions, by moving the levers down slightly it will make reaching for it alot easier , same goes with handle bar position , play around a little with those and youll find your "Happy Place" :P !

First review on the reproduction side cover is in! The topic can be found on v4hondabbs. Here is what Gary says:

I received the cover yesterday. It is exceptionally well made. Better than I expected. The edges of the cover are very presentable, and it has the right feel about it. The shape seems to be spot on. The weight seems fine and it flexes as you think it should. The mounting pegs are no longer hollow and look to be stronger than the original. It will probably be a few days before I get time to mount it to the V65. Something about having to take off my left saddlebag to unlock the seat. bash

I'll post pics when I mount it to show the fit, but my initial impression is this thing is a winner, and Michael has assured me that if there are any issues, he'll make it right.

    So....

Left side covers are back on the market folks.

    Thanks Michael.
