What would make my 350 rancher rattle like hell ? Could a VERY loose push rod cause that? I know it could be the timing chain but the guy I got it from said it was just replaced but idk, it's mainly coming from the right side of the motor. This is what my push rod looked like after it lost power and wouldn't start (lost compression) could that be what caused that bad rattling ? There's a lil bit of metal shavings from the push rod that wasn't there when I adjusted the valves, hence I didn't line up the t mark cus the alen bolt is stripped and the pull start is seized up so I took spark plug out and used a screw driver to see if the piston was at the very top then (tried) adjusting the valves, would a timing chain that's about to go bad rattle ? Someone please help me lol

  • I meant a VERY loose valve, (intake)

  • Did he replace the tensioner when he did the chain?

  • I would bet it jumped time again

  • Yup with Scrott Kamins
